We detailed the importance of using sunscreen in a previous post here. Everyone should be protecting themselves from the harsh sun. There are, however, certain suncreens that we want to alert our readers to — Spray-on Sunscreens. These are the ones usually found in metal bottles with a mist spray applicator. U.S. Surgeon General Warns About Skin Cancer

skin-cancer-sunburn-sunscreen-us-general-surgeon-warningReleased yesterday, U.S. Surgeon General Boris Lushniak issued a public warning that skin cancer is a “major public health problem” and issued an immediate call to prevent the disease. His report also stated that skin cancer in the United States, unlike many other cancers, continues to rise with about 5 million new cases annually. Melanoma figures were released too with around 63,000 people developing this deadliest form of skin cancer each year and 9,000 people dying from it.
 
Much of the rise is a result of people getting too much exposure to indoor and outdoor UV light. (more…)
